History

Founded in 3327 ART by Friedrich Geier, Geier Prestige is a fur trading company based out of Western Cretia. The company started by hunting Embertail beavers in the Kurs be Werda. A fantastical beaver with a tail that glows with embers, giving it the ability to fell trees by burning them rather than gnawing. The operation was successful, and quickly grew to match demands of the pelts across Cretia.

Over twenty years, Geier Prestige became an empire, with outposts not only in Cretia, but Vhekadla Shonar and eventually The Great North. The furs that were their targets expanded to anything exotic.

The First Grasp outpost was founded in 3347 ART with the objective of going after northern pelts not found throughout the rest of the world. In particular, yeti, mist leopard, and most rarely Arctic Fox pelts. The outpost is operated by Friedrich Geier’s youngest and largest son, Anders Geier.

Before recorded time, the Urein discoverd Bonfire Ice, a magical gem buried within the glaciers that provided a consistent warmth. Shonari

Untitled

The Shonari originally arrived in The Great North from Vhekadla Shonar as clerics in the 2300s, spreading the words of their gods and religion. The objective of their colonization was to establish a presence in the region, and gain religious influence. The effort did not prove fruitful, and Vhekadla Shonar withdrew.

The Vhekadla Shonar people that stayed became known as the Shonari. Their religion mixed with that of the locals, and they remain a prominent religion to this day, with temples throughout the various settlements.

Landstrikers

Untitled

Derived from the Northern word for drifter, Landstreicher. The Landstrikers are another nomadic tribe of The Great North. Indigenous like the Urein, the Landstrikers travel the planes of the Tundra, in search of food. Unlike the Urein, the Landstrikers rarely make contact with settlements in the Great North. As a result, little is known about them or their culture.
